Flever Time of Coffee — DIY Miniature Room Kit

$23.25

4.3 · 1,825 notes

Time of Coffee is a multi-level café built into what looks like a converted warehouse corner: brick, exposed beams, a mezzanine reached by an iron stair, plants spilling off every ledge. It has been in the range for years and we still have not found anything to change.

Build it back wall first, then the mezzanine, then the furniture — the instructions insist on that order for good reason. The coffee machine, the cups and the pastry case are separate pieces, and the plants take about as long as the architecture. It is a weekend, not an evening.

It sits mid-shelf of 35 room kits, builders have left it 4.3 out of five across 1,825 notes, and it is in stock as we write this.

We design every room the way we design our dollhouse kits: a story first, then the furniture that story needs, then the boxes of loose parts — flowers, jars, a folded newspaper — that make Time of Coffee look lived in. Everything in this DIY miniature house kit is cut in our own workshop, and we build one before we pack any.

What arrives in your Flever miniature kit

  • Numbered sheets of laser-cut MDF and card for the walls, floor and furniture.
  • Fabric, printed paper, paper flowers and the small decorations that dress the room.
  • An LED light wire with a battery pack for the house lights.
  • Glue, tweezers, double-sided tape and a sanding stick.
  • A clear plexiglass dust cover for the open front.
  • A step-by-step booklet with a photograph for every stage.

How the DIY build goes

  1. Decide where it will stand first — a bookshelf gap, a desk corner or a display cabinet — and filter this shelf by the size that fits.
  2. Pick the scene you would like to look at every day rather than the one with the most parts; a simple room you finish beats a crowded one you abandon.
  3. If this is a first DIY kit, choose something under forty dollars and keep the ambitious house for the second build.

Every Flever room kit is designed, cut and packed by the same small workshop, and we build one of each ourselves before it ever goes on sale.

Notes from people who built it

“I put this together with my 9 yr old granddaughter. It took us 3 days, working 3 hrs each day. We both loved doing the project and it turned out great! I replaced the god saying graphic with a picture of g'daughter's dog and added her name to the door.”

“Keeps you very occupied, I love putting stuff together anyway, it's crazy because I'm still working on it! Lol but I love it tho! If you don't have patience I wouldn't recommend but if you love putting stuff together and being artistic and crafty I would recommend.”
