Flever Gibon Sushi — Dollhouse Miniature DIY House Kit

$25.48

4.3 · 1,825 notesLow stock

Gibon Sushi is the kit that has been on our bench longest and has been refined the most. Two storeys of Japanese restaurant with a cherry tree against the gable, lanterns over the door, a sushi counter downstairs and a tatami room above it reached by an outside stair.

The blossom is the step people remember. You build the tree from a wire armature and attach the flowers individually, so no two finished kits have quite the same canopy. It is a long build and the instructions take it one bay at a time; nothing in it requires a tool you do not already have.

It is one of the larger kits on this shelf of 10 dollhouse kits, builders have left it 4.3 out of five across 1,825 notes, and the current run is nearly through.

A dollhouse is a story told in rooms, so Gibon Sushi starts as a drawing of the building and ends as a dozen boxes of loose parts — flowers for the garden, crockery for the shelves, a lamp for every landing. We build this miniature house kit once on our own bench before the first DIY kit leaves the workshop.

What arrives in your Flever miniature kit

  • Numbered laser-cut sheets for the facade, the floors, the staircase and the roof.
  • Flat-packed dollhouse furniture for every room in the house.
  • Several LED light wires and battery packs, so each floor can be lit on its own.
  • Fabric, printed paper, paper flowers and the small decorations for the garden.
  • Glue, tweezers, tape and sanding sticks.
  • A photographed booklet that takes the build floor by floor.

How the DIY build goes

  1. Measure the shelf before you choose — these are the largest kits we make, and the finished house wants to be seen from the front rather than wedged in a gap.
  2. Decide whether you want a home or a shop: the shop models give you a lit sign and a street side, the houses give you more rooms.
  3. Count your evenings honestly. If a month of them is not available, build a miniature room kit now and keep the dollhouse for the winter.

Every Flever dollhouse is drawn, cut, built once and only then packed — we would rather find the awkward step ourselves than have you find it on a Sunday evening.

Notes from people who built it

“I put this together with my 9 yr old granddaughter. It took us 3 days, working 3 hrs each day. We both loved doing the project and it turned out great! I replaced the god saying graphic with a picture of g'daughter's dog and added her name to the door.”

“Keeps you very occupied, I love putting stuff together anyway, it's crazy because I'm still working on it! Lol but I love it tho! If you don't have patience I wouldn't recommend but if you love putting stuff together and being artistic and crafty I would recommend.”
